Maui Taylor
Sexy star Maui Taylor first started out as a fresh faced, young actress in youth-oriented shows. Maui, whose real name is Maureen Anne Taylor, was first seen on the afternoon show TGIS, and was later cast in Anna Karenina, which stars Antoinette Taus, Sunshine Dizon and Kim de los Santos.
After appearing in several other TV shows, Maui decided to change her image to a sexy actress. This served as the platform to her stardom. She graced the cover of FHM Philippines on April 2002. The contrast of her sweet, youthful face to her ripe, voluptuous body made her one of the hottest sex symbols of her generation. She starred in the movie Gamitan, which raked in profits at the box office. Gamitan was the first movie where Maui had nude, sex scenes. This was followed by another sexy movie Hibla, where she starred with Rica Peralejo.
In 2003, Maui made another sexy movie, Sex Drive. Inspired by the hit foreign movie Y’tu MaMa Tambien, it became a hit in the box office even though it was heavily criticized by critics.
The sexy star decided to do some serious acting and starred in Ang Huling Birhen sa Lupa, which stars Ara Mina and Jay Manalo. Her role earned Maui her first nomination for an acting award.
After doing several more films, Maui’s career began to slide, partly because audiences began to lose interest in sexy films. However, Maui continued to appear in sexy pictorials for some of the leading men’s magazines in the country, such as FHM and Maxim. In 2003, Maui became a part of the Viva Hot Babes, a group of sexy starlets which include Gwen Garci and Jen Rosendahl. She later left the group because of conflicts with other members.
Maui is also known for her public spat with notorious DJ Mo Twister during her stint as a DJ at Magic 89.9.
It was only recently that Maui resumed her acting career again, after a long hiatus from films.
