Sarah Geronimo
Sarah Geronimo’s career is on the roll these days. The young star progressed from being one of the Philippines’s top singers to Box Office Queen. In mid-2008, she was teamed up with John Lloyd Cruz, who took a break from his loveteam with Bea Alonzo. The two starred in the movie A Very Special Love, which became a hit and made audiences aware of two things: Sarah Geronimo is a talented actress and she and John Lloyd have great chemistry.
This spilled over in 2009, when they reunited again for You Changed My Life. This time there was no denying the star power of the two actors. You Changed My Life made a killing at the box office. And to top it all of, the pair was named the 2008 Box Office King and Queen by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation.
Sarah’s success has made some showbiz insiders dub the young star as “today’s Sharon Cuneta”. The popularity of Sarah as both singer and actress, along with her wholesome image, is indeed similar to the Megastar’s career during the early years.
Aside from being a box office queen and pop princess, Sarah also got several endorsements for the past few years. Recently, she became the image model for Unica Hija. The endorsement was launched on Greenbelt 5 on March 9, where she received a round of applause from the enthusiastic crowd.
The management of Viva Films recognizes the hard work of Sarah for the studio and gave her a hefty bonus for the gross success of her two movies. Viva reportedly gave the young star a cool 1 million pesos, on top of the substantial increase in her talent fee.
