Nadine Samonte

The lovely Nadine Samonte was born in Bavaria, Germany on March 2, 1988. Her father is German and her mother is a Filipina. She was first seen by audiences as one of the contestants in the first season of the reality talent show Starstruck. Nadine became one of the Final 6, and the contest was eventually won by Mark Herras and Jennylyn Mercado.

This is just the beginning of her showbiz fame though. After Starstruck, Nadine was cast in the show Love to Love, followed by the series Kissing Beauty, which stars Dennis Trillo and Angel Locsin. Nadine was also cast in the afternoon soap opera series Ikaw sa Puso Ko, where she played the lead role opposite Oyo Boy Sotto. A real-life relationship developed between Nadine and Oyo Boy. Their pair got more projects together, including the romance-drama film Forever My Love. The couple eventually broke up after several months.

In 2004, Nadine was awarded as Most Promising Actress by the Guillermo Mendoza Memorial Scholarship Foundation.

After taking a short break, Nadine was given a role in another afternoon soap opera Now and Forever, with Sheryl Cruz as her co-star. From 2006-2007, the young star was doing projects left and right, including primetime shows like Bakekang, Super Twins and Magic Kamison She was also included in the cast of the local version of the hit Mexican telenovela Marimar, where she played Innocencia del Castillo. The young actress took another break from TV work and later resumed with a plum role in the TV remake of the classic film Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap. This was soon followed by Maging Akin Ka Lamang, another TV remake.

Nadine starred in several hit movies including Hari ng Sablay and Enteng Kabisote, Say That You Love Me and Forever My Love.

Her most recent TV shows include Ako Si Kim Samsoon and Carlo J. Caparas’ Gagambino.
