Jewel Mische
The lovely Jewel Mische became famous thanks to the hit reality TV show Starstruck. After winning the competition, Jewel became one of GMA Network’s most promising talents, landing one good role after another.
The young actress can credit her good looks to her German-Spanish-American father and her Filipina mother. Jewel was born in Manila but actually grew up in Bulacan. She joined Starstruck in 2006 and won as the show’s Ultimate Sweetheart. She got an exclusive contract with GMA Network as part of the competition’s numerous prizes. Jewel first appeared as a guest in TV shows and was included as one of the performers for the weekly variety show SOP. In 2007, she got a lead role in the afternoon series Magic Kamison. This got her a nomination for Best New Female Personality at the 21st Star Awards. Afterwards, she was included in the cast of the primetime series Mga Mata ni Angelita and Fantastic Man.
Her first major TV role was in Kamandag, which stars Richard Gutierrez. The actor reportedly asked for the young actress to be one of his leading ladies in the show.
During the same year, Jewel signed a contract with Regal Films, which gave her an eight-picture contract. Her first movie with Regal was Shake, Rattle and Roll 9, where she played a teenage gothic band member.
