Solar Powered Jeepneys

First, we had Metro Manila's LPG powered taxi cabs then there came Palawan's electric powered tricycles. Last week, we featured LPG powered buses that will be covering Quezon City and parts of Laguna and now, Marikina will be introducing solar-powered jeepneys and battery-run motorcycles to help in reducing the country's emission problems. With Markina's reputation as model of good governance, it is but rational to expect the swift implementation of the program. Last year, the City of Makati started experimenting with the use of battery powered jeepneys. Hopefully, success will follow and its implementation will happen very soon.
