We in the Philippines have long been lamenting the declining quality of the country’s educational system. From then, until now, people can only look up and wonder how the people can come close to its long time idol, the United States in attaining superiority in education. However, some of my professors who studied and taught in that country tells us that not all is swell even in the most advanced economies. In fact, some tell us that mediocrity, in its lowest form, can easily be spotted everywhere.
