Backpacking in the Philippines
Among other things, WazzupManila wants to give its dear readers a change to be better acquainted with Metro Manila and the rest of the country. In this regard, the site welcomes one of the country’s better backpackers who will narrate in print, photo and video presentations some of his experiences as he went all over town. Ivan Henares is a young man who is well on his way to exploring the country’s 7,107 islands and more. Among the well read adventures in his blog are about his encounters with sea turtles at the Pawikan Conservation Center, an afternoon in Lake Sebu, the Butanding and firefly encounters in Donsol, Sorsogon, Capones Island and its lighthouse, religious Good Friday rituals in Pampanga, the Hinulugang Taktak, Daranak and Batlag Falls, summer fun in Aurora and the infamous Rice terraces.
Unbeknownst to a lot of Metro Manila residents, there actually are a lot beautiful places to explore within the Metropolis. Ivan will share his narrative and breathtaking photos of the Manila Bay sunset, the beautiful but rarely noticed angles of Quiapo and other parts of old Manila and many other places. When not taking snapshots or eating exotic delicacies in the Philippines, Ivan may also be found exploring other destinations in distant lands.
