Pacquiao Easily Dominates Hatton
The much awaited bout between the world’s pound for pound king of boxing and the undefeated fighter at the 140 lbs weight category came to a very unexpected end. Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao knocked British Ricky “The Hitman” Hatton twice in the first round and once more in the second round to end the match.
Here are the highlights of the Pacquiao vs. Hatton fight video.
Hatton tried to press Pacquiao by persistently moving forward and using dirty tactics. He also was on the lookout for Pacquiao’s famed left punches. Much to Hatton’s dismay, Paquiao bombed him with his newly developed right hook that made him fall forward like a rag doll. He survived the referee’s count but was once again tagged with a solid left that knocked him silly at the end of the round.
Saved by the bell, he tried to press forward on the second round but the Pacman knowingly had him caged. Now wary of both Pacquiao’s right and left, he evidently was caught unprepared. Pacquiao feigned his surprise right and planted his left foot to the rear. The wary Hatton bit his trap and moved to avoid the right hand that knocked him a couple of minutes earlier. With full force, Manny Pacquiao unleashed his killer left and Hatton fell backwards. He ended with both hands by his side like a man inside a box.
The referee never bothered to count and declared Pacquiao as the winner. The stunned fans of the hitman was silent as ring doctors rushed to revive Hatton. After several minutes, Hatton was able to get up and walk unaided.
Pacquiao says this bout is of equal significance as the Pacquiao vs. De la Hoya and the Pacquiao Diaz. What’s next, Pacquiao vs. Mayweather?
