Ryan Agoncillo
The ever-lovable Kristoffer Ryan Agoncillo, who was born on April 10, 1979 in the U.S., made his way into the public’s consciousness as one of the country’s most in-demand commercial models. Ryan started modeling during his teenage years and became the very familiar face for big-name brands such as Sprite, Penshoppe and Islacom. His success in the modeling business made it easier for him to enter showbiz. Ryan started out in TV hosting and became one of the hosts of the early morning program Mornings at GMA. He also became host of Campus Video, a Saturday morning show.
Despite his hectic work schedule, Ryan managed to graduate with an Organizational Communications degree from De La Salle University.
Ryan later moved on to rival network ABS-CBN and took on more hosting projects. He became one of the hosts of Talk TV together with Christine Bersola, Julius Babao and Janette McBride. Ryan also became the host of the shows Breakfast, Star in a Million and Y-Speak. His stint at Y-Speak earned him a Best Talk Show Host award at the KBP Golden Dove Awards.
It was in ABS-CBN that Ryan was able to get great acting projects. He starred in numerous TV shows, including the soap opera series Krystala, opposite Judy Ann Santos. Judy Ann eventually became his real-life girlfriend. They also starred together in the movie Kasal, Kasali, Kasalo. Ryan was able to showcase his dramatic talents in the soap opera Bituing Walang Ningning and in two episodes of Maalaala Mo Kaya.
Meanwhile, Ryan’s hosting projects continued. He became the host of the reality singing competition Philippine Idol, a local version of the hugely popular American Idol. For this, he was tagged as “the Ryan Seacrest of the Philippines”. He also hosted other contests, such as Talentadong Pinoy and Pinoy Fear Factor.
The ever-busy Ryan is still able to indulge on several hobbies, which include motorcycling and car drifting.
Ryan is now engaged to Judy Ann, and they are said to tie the knot in 2009.
