Jean Garcia

Seasoned actress Jean Garcia was born Rosario Maitim on August 22, 1969 in Angeles, Pampanga. She started acting when she was in her teens but managed to live a relatively private life compared to her peers. Jean began appearing in movies and television show during the 1980s. She starred in films like Summer Holiday, Lost Command, Impaktita and Huwag Kang Hahalik Sa Diablo. Jean took in more roles in drama and action during the 1990s, along with roles in popular television shows such as Palibhasa Lalake, Maalaala Mo Kaya and Super Laff-In.

But it was in villain roles that Jean found her niche. Her very expressive face and upper-class demeanor made her a shoo-in for strong, female antagonist characters. It was in 2000 that Jean appeared in probably her most famous kontrabida role, that of Madam Claudia Buenavista in the hit ABS-CBN primetime drama series Pangako Sa â€˜Yo. She played the rich, scheming mother of Jericho Rosales. This was followed by the fantasy soap opera Kampanerang Kuba, which stars Anne Curtis.

In 2006, Jean moved to rival network GMA, where she was immediately given a major role in another fantasy series, Majika. In the same year, she took the role of Reyna Celebes in Atlantika. The actress was kept very busy from 2006 all they way to 2008. She starred in more primetime shows such as Impostora, La Vendetta and the TV remake of the classic film Dyesebel. Her most recent projects include Gagambino and All About Eve.

Aside from being a superb actress, Jean is also known for her sexy image, despite the fact that is already a mom to a teenage daughter. She is the mother of Jennica Garcia, who is now an actress. Jean was the cover girl for the October 2008 issue of FHM Philippines. Jean was also put on the spotlight for having a May-December relationship with young actor Polo Ravales.
