Glaiza de Castro
Pretty and talented Glaiza de Castro is fast becoming one of GMA Network’s top young talents. Born in Valenzuela City on January 21, 1988, Glaiza, who bears a striking resemblance to actress Angel Locsin, first appeared on a GMA Network soap opera Ikaw Lang ang Mamahalin in 2002. Surprisingly, she transferred to rival network ABS-CBN after just a few months of working for GMA. Glaiza became one of the talents of Star Magic, and starred in several TV shows including Berks, Spirits and Sarah: The Teen Princess.
In 2006, the young actress decided to go back to GMA. She was cast in the series Fantastikids. Her singing and dancing skills made her become a regular performer on the weekly variety show SOP. Soon Glaiza was given more and better roles in hit shows like Asian Treasures, which stars Robin Padilla and Angel Locsin. Her biggest break came she was given the lead role on the series Sine Nobela: Kaputol ng Isang Awit. Her great performance in the show impressed film producer Lily Monteverde, and she was given an eight-picture contract with Regal Films.
Her latest TV project is Gagambino, which stars Dennis Trillo and Katrina Halili, among others. Glaiza is also doing movies left and right. Her films include Sukob, Manay Po, White Lady, Batanes and Rakenrol. She is set to star in Astig, an indie film directed by Dennis Trillo. This is the first time that she will do a leading lady role with Dennis, who is one of the network’s most bankable stars. In Astig, Glaiza will be portraying a teenager who gets infected with a sexually-transmitted disease.
The lovely actress is getting lots of media attention because of the reports that actor Patrick Garcia is courting her. They recently starred in an episode of the afternoon series Dear Heart.
