Bea Alonzo

Bea Alonzo is one of the loveliest faces in Philippine showbiz. Born Phylbert Angellie Ranollo on October 17, 1987, she is-half British, half-Filipina by parentage. She wanted to be in show business at a very young age, so she joined beauty pageants as a stepping stone to an acting career. As luck would have it, she caught the eye of fashion designer Oscar Peralta, and he introduced her to his contacts in showbiz. She was 15 years old when she was included among ABS-CBN Talent Center’s Star Circle Batch 10.

Her start in the business was not smooth-sailing. She had quite the difficult time being a new face in the business. Despite the troubles, she was determined to prove herself. In 2003, she was finally given her big break – a role in the telenovela Kay Tagal Kang Hinintay, where she played the love interest of John Lloyd Cruz, who already popular at that time. The pairing truly boosted her career, and she secured a nomination for Best Actress for drama. The public enjoyed the John Lloyd-Bea loveteam, and this led to more drama series, including the hit Maging Sino Ka Man, one of ABS-CBN’s most watched shows.

Bea and John Lloyd brought their popularity to the big screen, and they starred in the film My First Romance, where Bea won a Best New Movie Actress award at the PMPC Star Awards. She also starred with Piolo Pascual in the film Dreamboy.

Bea’s beauty and popularity bought her numerous product endorsements, which include Avon and Clear shampoo. At present, Bea plans to continue her college education in UP Diliman.
