Justin Timberlake “In Time” For Gripping Action

Multi-talented Justin Timberlake debuts in his starring role as Will Salas in the gripping action-thriller “In Time” opposite Amanda Seyfried. Under the direction of genre-bender director Niccol Andrew whose works include “Gattaca” that introduced the unthinkable in genetic engineering and “The Truman Show” that sparked today’s reality shows, “In Time” advances to a near future where time is literally at arm’s reach.
Justin Timberlake’s Will Salas struggles every second of every day and is is constantly on the run, fighting to get more time. While people stop ageing at the age of 25 in the movie, life beyond that point is precarious, at least for the poor like Will and his mother, Rachel (played by Olivia Wilde who looks the same age as her son). They are only given a year’s grace, after 25, that it is a battle for survival which means that every moment is precious.
The rich at the other end of the spectrum have excessive amounts of time and they are effectively immortal. They have a decadently indulgent lifestyle where little is achieved because there is no sense of urgency. It’s an unjust society implemented as a way of stemming over population.
When Will ‘inherits’ a lot of time from a wealthy man who wants to give it all away., he crosses all borders to get the zone where the rich lives. He then meets Sylvia (Amanda Seyfried), a beautiful but bored and over-protected heiress in the rich zone and takes her hostage. Together on the run, Will and Sylvia try to put an end to the corruption and redistribute time.
Being a longtime fan of action thrillers, Timberlake immediately jumped at the chance to play the ‘old soul’ Will. “When I was a kid, some of my favorite movies were action pieces like First Blood, The Fugitive, and Die Hard,” says Timberlake. “The one thing I loved about those specific movies was that the protagonists were everyday people placed into extraordinary circumstances and doing extraordinary things.”
Timberlake adds, “Will’s heroics are triggered by an easily relatable factor. Will has grown up with essentially nothing. He wakes up every day and goes to work to stay alive. Through a series of events, he decides that he’s not going to take it anymore, and takes it upon himself to try and change the way things work in this world.”
“Will grows up in Dayton, which is somewhat of a ghetto. It’s kind of ironic that the word ‘day’ is in its name, because most of the citizens only walk around with a day to live. So the day-to-day life in Dayton is quick. People don’t have time to walk slowly, so they run, almost all of the time, to where they are going, and they’re constantly eating and drinking on the run. They don’t have time to spare or to waste. Everything’s frenetic and alive, in a kind of dangerous yet beautiful way. When your back is up against the wall and you don’t have a choice, you make revisions and you live your life the way that it has to be, to survive.”

Ironically, having had an unconventional childhood due to his early success in the music industry, Timberlake has come of age and is much comfortable as he was than his younger years.
“I am happy about getting older. I like myself much more at 30 than I did when I was 25. You accept things more and you become more patient. I have been really lucky; I have made the most of my luck and I am happy about that. I think the idea of immortality is actually frightening to me especially because I look back at my younger days as a lot of visual mishaps. I don’t know what I would do if I possessed immortality. It’s definitely a mind trip getting into the idea that it could exist as we see it in the film. My character Will is always moving, always running and it’s mostly because he literally lives day to day. I think I’ve probably spent time moving at a fast pace, so I identify with that.”
“In Time” opens October 28 in theaters from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

“Glee”successfully tuned in to worldwide acclaim tackling teenage problems via its ensemble of perfectly flawed characters. Created by Ryan Murphy, “Glee” has struck such a strong chord with young people in particular because it deals in a realistic way with issues facing teenagers that are often ignored, such as outward appearance, sexual orientation and disability, but it does so in an authentic and entertaining way. The cast is diverse, the storylines are strong and the show is infused with humor and wit. Nevertheless, despite its high wattage of uplifting music and dance, most guardians find the show’s depiction of teenage problems inappropriate for the little ones. Thus, addressing the show’s curbed viewership, “Glee” steps up on stage reaching to broader audience as young as three in “Glee the 3D Concert Movie.”
Recently classified for General Patronage GP by the (local) Movie and Television Review and Classification Board, “Glee The 3D Concert Movie” is summed up as “Wholesome concert on people who feel comfortable about themselves with poignant life stories and issues that allow and encourage people to be more tolerant of one another; issues like dwarfism, having asperger’s syndrome, being gay, wearing glasses, being physically disable and the like. An excellent concert movie that is suitable for children and adults, abled and disabled, straight and gay, big and small.”
Filmed during the recently concluded stadium-filled tours, Glee fans can expect to be bowled over by the big screen experience. In character, tapping into the magical quality of the TV series, members of the Glee Club belt out ballads, show tunes and a rocking blend of sensational pop songs, all familiar from the show including covers of numbers that include Paul McCartney’s ‘Silly Love Songs’ Katy Perry’s ‘Teenage Dream’ and Journey’s ‘Don’t Stop Believin’, which was Glee’s first hit.
Setting it apart from other 3D concert movies that have been released, director Kevin Tancharoen who has closely collaborated with James Cameron into filming Glee in 3D notes that the at the core of the film’s music and moves are the documentaries of the fans that perfectly tied in with Glee’s endearing resonance with the underdogs. Ordinarily, many of the GLEE club members would be considered geeky, but the show depicts them as genuine and authentic teens. What they have in common is charisma, warmth and above all, talent.
Exclusively released in 3D digital screens by 20th Century Fox thru Warner Bros, “Glee The 3D Concert Movie”will open nationwide on September 21 for two weeks only – Metro Manila, Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bohol, Cagayan De Oro, Bacolod, GenSan, Tagbilaran, Pampanga, Angeles and Baguio.

Newcomer Will Poulter in “Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader

“Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader; finds its latest treasure of an actor in newcomer Will Poulter who plays Eustace Scrubb, the bratty cousin of the Pevensies. Returning in their biggest 3D adventure are Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes who play Lucy and Edmund Pevensie respectively. In the film, the Pevensie children are staying at Eustace’s home when all three are dragged into Narnia via a painting on the wall depicting the ocean, which suddenly becomes terrifyingly real as gallons of water flood into the room. They surface in the ocean in Narnia, near Caspian’s ship, The Dawn Treader, and embark on an epic quest to find the seven Lost Lords.

Bright, articulate, enthusiastic, utterly charming and delightfully modest teenager, Will clearly relishes the big opportunity that working with director Michael Apted and co-stars Ben Barnes, Georgie Henley and Skandar Keynes (who have all appeared in the Narnia films before), represents. For him, this particular adventure was a dream come true especially on the shores of Australia where the film was also shot. “I loved being in Australia,” he says. “I loved the people I worked with and we got to work in a giant water tank – that was so cool. We also learned to scuba dive and I learned sword fighting too, which was fantastic. Finally, I had to work with a blue screen, which was weird but fun. After work I would go surfing and I loved doing that. Actually, I can’t begin to describe how much fun it was. I had the best time.”

Born and raised in London and in many ways, is like any other English boy of the same age. He also loves to act and made a very promising start in the professional world of filmmaking at just 14 years old when he starred in the charming British comedy Son Of Rambow. He credits his drama teacher at school, The Harrodian, for inspiring him to take the plunge and go for the role of Lee Carter. “My teacher, Laura Lawson, put me up for my first audition for Son of Rambow,” he says. “I kind of owe everything to her. She’s been amazing to me.”
When Michael Apted (“Amazing Grace,” “The World Is Not Enough,” “Nell”) first auditioned young Will for the part of Eustace Scrubb, the vastly experienced director was obviously impressed. Typically, though, Will himself was convinced that he didn’t stand a chance. “I was absolutely terrified.”

“Eustace is really a horrible, horrible guy,” Will explains of his role. “He’s obnoxious, at times arrogant, and quite defensive of himself, and he’s very much against the whole idea of Narnia and talking creatures,” he says.
“I felt really guilty that I had to subject that many people to a brat like that for six months,” he laughs. “But it was also really good fun and I absolutely loved playing the part—it was tough but I absolutely loved it.”

“Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” opens December 9 in theatres nationwide from 20th Century Fox to be distributed by Warner Bros.

From the studio that brought the world “ Avatar,” the first truly immersive 3D experience – 20th Century Fox brings the audience deeper into reel 3D in “ The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader,” “ Gullivers’s Travels,” “ Darkest Hour” and “ Rio.”

Return to the magic of C.S. Lewis’ beloved world in “ The Chronicles Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” with Lucy and Edmund Pevensie. Together with their cousin Eustace, they travel with King Caspian via the fantastic Narnian ship, the Dawn Treader. Their mission wherein the fate of Narnia rests takes them to mysterious islands and a river that turns to gold, to fateful confrontations with magical creatures and sinister enemies, and to a reunion with their friend and protector, the “ Great Lion” Aslan. Directed by Michael Apted, “ Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader” boards the returning cast of Ben Barnes, Skandar Keynes and Georgie Henley with Liam Neeson as the voice of Aslan.

Jack Black brings hilarious fun in the re-imagining of Jonathan Swift’s classic novel “ Gulliver’s Travels.” Black’s Gulliver is an inspiring writer in a newspaper mailroom who has a secret crush on his editor (played by Amanda Peet). Hoping to impress his boss, he accepts a challenging assignment about The Bermuda Triangle that takes him on a dangerous seafaring adventure. After a tumultuous trip across seas and oceans, he finds himself washed up on the shores of Lilliput where he is enslaved by its tiny inhabitants. Rob Letterman directs this richly imaginative movie that also features Jason Segel, Emily Blunt and Billy Connolly.

The Darkest Hour” is set to delight 3d buffs as it brings the experience anew into the thrilling realm of sci-fi adventure. The movie centers on five people in Moscow who find themselves stranded and fighting to survive in the wake of a devastating alien attack. The movie stars Emile Hirsch, Rachael Taylor and Olivia Thirlby directed by Chris Gorak and produced by Timur Bekmambetov (“ Wanted”).

Blue Sky Studios, the makers of “ Ice Age” flies higher in its latest animation comedy “ Rio.” Starring the voices of Neil Patrick Harris, Anne Hathaway, Rodrigo Santoro, George Lopez and Jake T. Austin, “ Rio” centers on Blu, a rare macaw who thinks he is the last of his kind. When Blu discovers there’s another — and that she’s a she — he leaves the comforts of his cage in small town Minnesota and heads to Rio de Janeiro. But it’s far from love at first sight between the domesticated and flight-challenged Blu and the fiercely independent, high-flying female, Jewel. Unexpectedly thrown together, they embark on an adventure of a lifetime, where they learn about friendship, love, courage, and being open to life’s many wonders.
