Considered as one of the sexiest women in the Philippines today, Ehra Madrigal is enjoying a lots of media exposure thanks to her numerous acting and modeling projects. The curvaceous star, whose real name is Geralyn Madrigal Gaspar, was born on June 25, 1985. She is the elder sister of actress Michelle Madrigal. Ehra was discovered by talent manager Annabelle Rama and signed her as one of the talents of GMA Network. Her first project was on the hit primetime series Mulawin, followed by Encantadia and the series Kung Mamahalin Mo Lang Ako. Lovi Poe

Being the daughter of the King of Philippine movies may have helped Lovi Poe establish a career in showbiz, but the young actress and singer's good looks and talent would have made it on their own without the reference to her famous father. Born Lourdes Virginia Moran Poe on February 11, 1989, she is the offspring of legendary actor Fernando Poe, Jr. Lovi started her showbiz career as a talent of GMA Network, when she starred in the show Love to Love in 2006. Her biggest break came when she was given cast as Kristal in the hit primetime series, Bakekang, which stars Sunshine Dizon. After Bakekang, Lovi starred in another primetime show, Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawahan. In 2008, the young actress was given a prime role in the daytime drama, Sine Novela: Kaputol ng Isang Awit. During the same year, Lovi won the trophy for New Movie Actress of the Year at the 24th PMPC Star Awards for Movies for her role in the horror flick Shake, Rattle and Roll 9. Sarah Geronimo

Sarah Geronimo’s career is on the roll these days. The young star progressed from being one of the Philippines’s top singers to Box Office Queen. In mid-2008, she was teamed up with John Lloyd Cruz, who took a break from his loveteam with Bea Alonzo. The two starred in the movie A Very Special Love, which became a hit and made audiences aware of two things: Sarah Geronimo is a talented actress and she and John Lloyd have great chemistry. Pops Fernandez

Dubbed as the Philippine’s Concert Queen, Pops Fernandez has enjoyed one of the longest singing careers in show business. She first became a recording artist when she was only 16 and became part of the country’s most famous music couples when she married Martin Nievera. Born Maria Cielito Lukban Fernandez on December 2, 1966, Pops is the daughter of action star Eddie Fernandez and Dulce Lukban. She signed a recording contract with OctoArts in 1981 and released her first LP, Pops, in 1982. In the same year, she became a co-host of the variety series Penthouse Live! Along with Martin. Pops quickly became a popular teen idol and a cover girl of countless magazines. The show was eventually replaced with Martin and Pops Twogether, and the pair got married shortly afterward. Husband and wife worked together in another variety program, ASAP. Pops starred in more movies, usually in the dramatic genre. The couple had two sons before they separated in 1998. Their separation grabbed showbiz headlines because of the supposed affair with of Martin with another woman. Many fans sympathized with Pops because of the issue. During the years that followed her separation from Martin, Pops worked endlessly and solidified her status as the Concert Queen even further. She went on tour and performed in several countries, including the U.S. and Hong Kong. Pops continued attract huge crowds and good album sales. She also launched her own fashion collection, Pipay. Martin Nievera

Concert King Martin Nievera is one of the country’s premier balladeers. Aside from his individual music career, Martin is also famous for being the ex-husband of singer Pops Fernandez, dubbed as the Concert Queen. Martin Ramon Nievera was born on February 5, 1962. He is the son of singer Bert Nievera and Conchita Razon, Martin was raised in the States and spent most of his childhood in Hawaii. In 1982, he returned home to the Philippines with the intention of establishing his own singing career. Martin released his first LP Martin…Take One, in June 1982. The album reached Platinum status in just a few months. He became a co-host of the variety show Penthouse Live! with Pops Fernandez, who eventually became his wife. In 1984, Martin released his second album, The Best Gift, in 1984. After three years, Penthouse Live! was changed to Martin and Pops Twogether. He and Pops had two sons before they separated in 1998. The split was one of the most talked-about news in showbiz during that time because of Martin’s alleged affair with another woman. Despite the failure of his marriage, Martin continued to soar career-wise. He did more concerts and recorded more albums, which also became platinum. He starred in more movies, usually in drama, romance and comedy. Martin spends a lot of time in Las Vegas, Nevada, where his girlfriend Katrina Ojeda is based, along with their son Santino. Recently, Martin got involved in another controversy concerning the breakup of Pops with her longtime boyfriend, actor Jomari Yllana. Cesar Montano

Multi-awarded actor and director Cesar Montano truly deserves his hard-earned stardom. The multi-talented artist started from being a stuntman, moved on to B movie roles and starred in television before becoming one of the country's most respected celebrities. Born in Manila, Cesar started honing his acting skills in 1984 during his senior year in college. He took acting workshops with the likes of Joel Lamangan and landed bit roles in movies. Soon he was given real film and TV roles, such as Agos starring opposite Gretchen Barretto and Regal Shocker. Cesar proved to be a very versatile actor, starring in several movie genres without endangering his career, although majority of his films until 1998 were action movies. He also played light, comedy roles such as the one he did for the sitcom Kaya ni Mister, Kaya ni Misis opposite veteran actress Maricel Soriano. It was through his breakout role in the award-winning film Jose Rizal that Cesar established his leading man status. His portrayal of the national hero brought praises from critics, and won the Best Actor award at the 1998 Metro Manila Film Festival. A year after, he starred in another award-winning movie Muro Ami, where he played the ruthless captain of reef hunters. At this stage of his career, Cesar focused on directing and starring on quality movies. Although he still appeared in comedy and love-themed films, the actor put more time and effort on projects that will earn critical acclaim. In 2004, he starred in the film Panaghoy sa Suba, in which he was also the director and producer. His directorial debut won multiple awards in both local and international award-giving bodies. It was even included in international foreign festivals like 2005 Cannes Film Festival. Hollywood also beckoned to Cesar. In 2005, he was cast in Miramax's The Great Raid, which was directed by John Dahl. He was also cast in Another Deep Breath, another U.S. film which started shooting in 2005. Cesar even tried his luck in music. He released his first album, Subok Lang, which is mostly made up of acoustic ballads. Subok Lang eventually became a platinum record. Nowadays, Cesar is busy on television, starring in the series Palos and host of the game show The Singing BeePersonal Life Cesar had two children with his first wife, Marilyn Polinga. She died of brain tumor in 1993. He also had a son with actress Teresa Loyzaga, who now lives in Australia. Cesar is currently married to actress Sunshine Cruz, and they have two daughters.

Iwa Moto

Filipina-Japanese actress Iwa Moto was born Aileen Quimapo Iwamoto on August 29, 1988. She entered showbiz as one of the third-batch contestants of the reality talent show Starstruck. Iwa became a runner-up to winner Jackie Rice. Because the talents in Starstruck are meant to be given exposure by GMA Network after the competition, Iwa appeared in shows such as SOP Gigsters and Nuts Entertainment. She also joined the cast of the primetime series Bakekang. Iwa also had roles in the movies Pitong Dalagita and White Lady.. In 2006, Iwa decided to change the direction of her career. She changed her manager and became the talent of Rommel Gacho, who is also Katrina Halili's manager. The young actress was launched with a sexier image, and she became the cover girl for the December issue of FHM Philippines. She scored another cover two years after. She also graced an FHM cover in Singapore. Her sexy body and Japanese-anime looks made her a hit among men, From 2006 to 2008, Iwa was included in FHM's 100 Sexiest Women in the World and Maxim's 100 Hottest Women on the Planet lists.   She was given better roles this time. She was cast to play Rita in Sine Novela's Kung Mahawi Man Ang Ulap, which was originally played by veteran actress Amy Austria. After this, she became one of the stars of the fantasy primetime series Zaido: Pulis Pangkalawakan. Iwa also starred in Joaquin Bordado and Sine Novela's Magdusa Ka. Maja Salvador

Maja Salvador gained a showbiz career in the most unusual manner, considering that she came from a family of actors and actresses. The Cagayan native was already doing some ramp modeling when she was featured on national TV being reunited with her father, actor Ross Rival, whom she has not seen in years until the public reunion. It was through the efforts of movie columnist and talent manager Chit Ramos that father and daughter was able to meet each other again thru a televised reunion on the show The Buzz. Chit's daughter, Farrah, is a friend of Maja's, and it was to Farrah that Maja confided her desire to see her father again. ABS-CBN top executive Charo Santos-Concho was watching the show, and it turned out that the young Maja's face pleading for her father made quite an impression on the network boss. She asked her staff to look for Maja and the rest is history.  Needless to say, Maja became a talent of ABS-CBN and was immediately given her first project, which was the soap opera It Might Be You starring John Pratts. TV and movie opportunities kept pouring in after that, including her first movie, Sukob, in which she won a Best Supporting Actress nomination at the FAMAS and PASADO awards. For her performance, she won the New Movie Actress of the Year award at the PMPC Star Awards for Movies and the Breakthrough Performance by an Actress award at the Golden Screen Awards.  The network also recognized Maja's immense dancing skills, and she was included among the Ultimate Dance Four along with John Pratts, Rayver Cruz and Shaina Magdayao. She became known as the "Dance Princess" of her generation.  Because of her good lucks and many talents, Maja was dubbed as a "Complete Package" of a superstar by the press. Yasmien Kurdi

The pretty and talented Yasmien Kurdi became popular as one of the finalists of the reality talent show Starstruck. Born on January 25, 1989, Yasmien Yuson Kurdi is mixture of Filipino, French-Lebanese and Chinese origins. She spent most of her childhood and teenage years in the Middle East. Even at such a young age, Yasmien was already honing her singing and acting skills. She started joining singing competitions whe she was three and acted onstage when she was seven. When her parents separated, Yasmien went back home to the Philippines along with her mother. She became a commercial model, with Ponds as her first print ad. In 2003, she auditioned for Starstruck. Yasmien made it all the way into the Final Four, but eventually lost to Jennylyn Mercado. As part of the Final Four, Yasmien got a contract from GMA Network, and made appearances some of the network's shows, such as Click and SOP Gigsters. She also got several movie projects, such as Aishite Imasu and Lovestruck. In 2005, she was given a prime role in the fantasy teleserye Encantandia. GMA developed Yasmien's singing career, and in 2005, she released her debut album In the Name of Love under GMA Records. In 2006, Yasmien got her biggest acting break when she was cast to play Charming in the primetime series Bakekang, opposite Sunshine Dizon and Lovi Poe. In the same year, she starred in the movie Pitong Dalagita. In 2007, the young actress was dubbed by the network as the "GMA Drama Princess". During that time, she was starring in the series Pati Ba Pintig ng Puso with JC de Vera. This was followed by Pasan Ko Ang Daigdig, a TV remake of the classic Sharon Cuneta movie. The loveteam of Yasmien and JC became a hit among fans. Yasmien continued to thrive in remakes of drama classics. She starred in Babangon Ako't Dudurugin Kita, which was originally a Lino Brocka film. The young star also starred in Saan Dadating ang Umaga? and took on the role of Maricel Soriano. Aside from acting and music, Yasmien is also an active campaigner for People for Ethical Treatment of Animals. Yasmien, who is a vegetarian, appeared in PETA ads to promote vegetarianism.

Ai-Ai de las Alas

Veteran actress and comedienne Ai-Ai de las Alas is one of the most talented thespians in the industry today. Born Martina Aileen de las Alas in 1964, she started her showbiz relatively late, considering that the most successful celebrities today were already in the public eye when they were still kids. Ai-Ai had her first movie project during the mid-1980s with Sana Kahit Minsan. Her first break in TV was in 1993, when she became a host for the daily noontime show Lunch Date, and later became the host for Salo-Salo Together. Because of her great talents in comedy, Ai-Aid was given a steady stream of projects for both movies and TV. She accepted mostly supporting roles until 2001. Her longish chin became Ai-Ai's trademark, which she played up to her advantage to become more credible comedy-wise. It was in 2003 that Ai-Ai got the big break that she has been waiting for. She starred in Star Cinema's Ang Tanging Ina, her very first solo film. Tanging Ina became a box-office hit, and finally recognized Ai-Ai as lead star material. The film was made into a TV series, which ran from 2003-2005. The success of the film and TV series earned more movies and TV projects for the comedienne. She also became a hot product endorser, and became one of the star clients of celebrity surgeon Vicki Belo, among other contracts. The indefatigable Ai-Ai also ventured into music, and made her first album, Ang Tanging Ina Nyo, which showcases novelty tunes. She had a successful solo concert at the Araneta Coliseum, which earned her the title of Comedy Concert Queen. The success of the film Tanging Ina spawned a sequeal called Ang Tanging Ina Ninyong Lahat, which was one of the top moneymakers of 2008. This further established the box-office power of Ai-Ai. Aside from being a hardworking actress and comedienne, Ai-Ai is also a dutiful mom to three kids with her ex-husband Miguel Vera. At present, Ai-Ai is one of the stars of the hit primetime telenovela, I Love Betty La Fea and co-host of the weekly show The Buzz.
